About
Born and raised in Napa Valley, California, John grew up in a family that valued education, hard work, and perseverance—his father a schoolteacher, his mother a paralegal. He played football at Napa High School, where he was later inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame, and went on to star as a four-year starter and team captain at the University of Oregon, competing in two Rose Bowls, the Fiesta Bowl, and a National Championship. After his time with the Indianapolis Colts, Denver Broncos, and Ottawa Redblacks, John transitioned his competitive spirit into real estate, quickly emerging as a top producer at Matthews Real Estate Investment Services, earning back-to-back Sales Achievement Awards (2020, 2021) and the Chairman’s Award (2022). Today, he continues to thrive at CBRE, where his combination of grit, strategy, and client commitment defines his leadership. Outside of work, John enjoys golfing, spending time with his wife Elizabeth and their two children, and returning home to Napa Valley to recharge and reflect on what drives him most—family, integrity, and the pursuit of excellence.
